When Margaret was a young mother, she found it difficult to convincingly teach her children about the real presence of Christ in the Eucharist. How do you tell a 3-year old Jesus is in the Tabernacle? How do you explain how God chose to come to us through bread and wine? How do you share with them the immense love God has for them? She wanted to find a way to draw children into the lasting belief and love of this Great Gift.
Margaret wrote this book at age 33 and put off publishing this book for 43 years. She waited until she had the time, space and resources to publish this book. She overcame many barriers and taught herself everything from putting two Word documents together, to searching and selecting an illustrator and publisher. Margaret persisted because she passionately believes in the book’s message. Writing this book was not only an interest of hers, but a compulsion; an empathetic compulsion to help others who had the responsibility of teaching children the astounding truths of God’s presence in the Eucharist.
She does not promote this book for her gain, but for the sincere desire for children to know and feel how deep is God’s love for us and what it prompts Him to do.
AWARD: 3rd place in the children’s category of the Xulon Press Christian Choice Book Awards, 2012.
About the author
Margaret Schuster-Grossman is a grandmother in her 80s with nine children, 19 grandchildren, and 13 great grandchildren. She lives in a small rural town in MN where she is active in her parish, delivers meals on wheels, leads the prayer group, brings communion to shut-ins and visits the elderly.
Margaret attended St. Benedict College and St. Joseph’s Hospital School of Nursing, where she received a license for practical nursing, LPN. She has had many years of experience helping teach and raise children, from when she was nanny for two children in New York City, to her many offspring. She is a life long learner and spoke French with her children to jump start her children’s interest in languages. She continues to learn and grow through daily reading, being an active citizen, and attending Bible study classes.
Motivational Words from Margaret: Besides the book, ‘buy’ into this: “If you have a dream, do the research, stick your neck out, and stick with it. It may not happen when you want, but don’t give it up!” Besides her inspiring spiritual book, she continues to inspire our dreams!
